What a month it has been, we have had Rally of Canberra and the AASA Rally of Bathurst. ROC went down quite well with Graeme improving his gravel driving throughout the event, even gaining points in the ACT Gold Cup. We finished 24th outright over the whole event and 9th Gold Cup. Wasn't such a good event at Bathurst with Peter Jerie bringing the Mirage out of mothballs for the event. We only made it 17km into the first stage before breaking a driveshaft and the diff.
On the Charade front, we are starting to assemble the engine over the next few weeks. Hoping to do some local events in September and October. Also looking at preparing Andrew's Charade so he can have a run later in the year.
As many people in the region are looking at heading to Bega for the long weekend, they may be missing something. That something is that the famous Bega rally isn't being held this year due to the local council being a bit tardy in making a decision about the roads, tis leaving Event Director Graham Roser with no choice but to can the event. Instead I will be heading to Port Macquarie to run with Andy Crane in the Works Peugeot 504.
Other big news is that the Australian WRC round next year will be held entirely in NSW around the Northern NSW town of Kyogle. A good chance for some locals to have a run:)
Anyway enough from me for now, need to head back to the shed, then a bit of fitness training this afternoon (gotta get fit now I'm going to have a good car!)
Cheers

Rally of Canberra is here again for another year. This year the team will be running the Shaw Vineyard Estate Lancer EVO 6.5 with Graeme Shaw driving. The car has been converted from Tarmac rally spec by Reliance Automotive and PCD Engineering over the last few weeks.
Graeme had his gravel initiation on Wednesday, having a test session with Rick Bates out at Hyles block. The main comment from Graeme was how unstable the car became on gravel at high speeds, and getting used to the surface changes and how much grip there was. Will be very steady over the first few stages learning what the grip levels are like.
The event kicks off in Garema Place in the City centre tonight at 6:30pm with the first stage on Saturday morning, the 28.8km Tidbinbilla stage.
We will be providing updates during the event on this website plus there will be results available at www.roc.com.au
