National Capital Rally

This Saturday 25th of November the National Capital rally will be held in the forests around Canberra. The event starts at The Weston Club at 11.30am with the cars then heading into Garema Place for White Ribbon Day promotions. fibertech rallyGerald's Escort The field will be headed by 15 Classics including two former Australian Champions in Ross Dunkerton and Geoff Portman. Portman will be supported by the Speedbitz.com and Bakermotorsport team. Gerald Schofield will be running as well in his Escort and is hoping to take it up to Dunkerton and Portman, utilising his recent knowledge of the roads.

The main event is headed by Michael Boaden, closely followed by 2006 Victorian Champion Justin Dowel, both of these guys in Lancer Evo's although Dowel is in a newer EVO 8 Lancer.

The ACT series entrants, headed by John Stilling in his EVO 6 Lancer with Richard Leitis and Ray Day both snapping at his heels. The Series is still undecided with Stilling holding a slight lead going into this round.

Peter Jerie will again have Ray sitting next to him in the VR4, although there will be two Livescore.com in the event with Craig Neale coming out of retirement to run the Mirage. Peter has already wrapped up the ACT Clubman championship so will be going out there to take it up to the big guns. Starting Car 19 means the roads will have been swept, but the dust will be bad.

Temperatures will be quite high over the course of the day so we will have to maintain our fluid levels, plenty of sports drinks will help and a good prep will also help. The VR4 doesn't have a roof vent so will be quite warm.

We are hoping to do updates during the event, so keep checking the site on Saturday.
